Unikabeton is a collaborate research project between several major institutions and companies within the Danish building industry, investigating industrialized, robot manufacturing of complex concrete structures.Using large scale CNC-milling of polysterene blocks, complex casting molds are
produced in a completely digitized file-to-factory process. Aarhus School of Architecture contributes to the project by investigating topology optimization of concrete structures.The research team explores the architectural potential of topology optimized shapes and
the implications of using CAE tools (Computer Assisted Engineering) as constitutive design tools in the design process.
